Base of a funerary kouros

Base of a funerary kouros in pentelic marble. Found in the Kerameikos, Athens, in 1922, built into the Themistoklean wall. The three visible sides have relief representations. On the front and left side athletes are depicted (wrestlers, runners, javelin-thrower, jumper, and shot-putter). On the right side four youths are watching a fight scene between a dog and a cat.
