Accessibility

  • Access to the Museum for people with mobility problems is via a special ramp at the entrance of the building.
  • Access to the floors is possible via a stair lift, donated by the Bank of Greece.
  • WC for people with mobility problems.
  • Free access to guide dogs accompanying visually impaired people.
  • Embossed floor plans of the space at the entrance for the best orientation of the blind visitor – a result of the collaboration of the Tactual Museum with the 3rd Gymnasium of Kifissia in the framework of the Erasmus+ KA2 program “Adapting Museums for educational Inclusive Goals”.
  • Automatic navigation application, for the autonomous and independent browsing of the visitor with vision loss and audio description of the exhibits (in addition to Braille descriptions). The program was implemented within the framework of the Operational Program “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation (EPANEK)”, NSRF 2014-2020, entitled “Innovative Applications of Digital Autonomous Navigation for the Blind” MANTO Blind, in collaboration with the University of Piraeus.
  • Accessible informational material in enlarged printing and Braille system in Greek and English for the partially sighted and blind respectively.
  • Emergency exits on both floors of the Museum.

COVID-19 health protection measures

In order to secure public health against the spread of the Sars-Cov 2 coronavirus, all the relevant measures derived by the governmental directives are followed. Thus, both staff and visitors comply with the current health protocols and at the same time all the relevant hygiene rules are applied in all spaces/halls of the Museum.
