The Tactual Museum, like the other departments of the Lighthouse for the Blind of Greece, has been receiving significant recognition of its work and offer throughout the years; Individuals, organizations, companies, associations from Greece and abroad, as well as the State have both morally and practically been by our side. Thanks to this kind and great support, the promotion of its unique work is achieved, its collections are enriched and its uninterrupted operation is ensured. The Tactual Museum, through its actions, has been honoring this trust, always aiming at faithfully serving its high vision and maximizing the positive results and extending its good practices.

Ministry of Culture and Sports

Under the Auspices and the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports

  • “Cultural actions and programs for promoting the catholic access of blind and visually impaired people to culture”. For the period May-December 2023, the association is implementing the Action entitled: ‘‘Cultural actions and programs for promoting the catholic access of blind and visually impaired people to culture’’ under the financial support and the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
  • “Cultural actions and programs for promoting the catholic access of blind and visually impaired people to culture”. For the period May-December 2021, the association implemented the Action entitled: ‘‘Cultural actions and programs for promoting the catholic access of blind and visually impaired people to culture’’ under the financial support and the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
  • “Cultural actions and programs for promoting the catholic access of blind and visually impaired people to culture’’. For the year 2020, the association implemented the Action entitled: ‘‘Cultural actions and programs for promoting the catholic access of blind and visually impaired people to culture’’ under the financial support and the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
  • “Cultural actions and programs for combating discriminations and inequalities”. For the year 2019, the association implemented the Program: ‘‘Αctions of Cultural and Artistic Inclusion of blind and visually impaired people for combating discrimination: Promotion and communication of cultural actions, creation of opportunities for equal participation and coexistence’’ under the financial support and the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.

Under the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports

  • “Creation of Digital Tactual Museum”. For the period May-December 2021, the Lighthouse for the Blind of Greece implemented the Project entitled: “Creation of Digital Tactual Museum’’ under the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
  • Τhe Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports, majorly contributed in 2016-2017 to the reparation of building damages and reoperation of the Tactual Museum.

General Secretariat of the Olympic Games

The General Secretariat of the Olympic Games with the General Secretary, Mr. K. Kartalis, enriched the Museum’s collection with the donation of 10 copies of the athletics thematographia. In addition, the ministry donated a copy of Hermes of Praxiteles status and contributed to the creation of the Olympic Games Room.

Hellenic Parliament

The Hellenic Parliament, with its generous grant in 2016-2017, contributed significantly to the restoration of damage to the Historical Building , where the Tactual Museum is housed and therefore to its reopening.

Ministry of Health & Social Solidarity

The Ministry of Health & Social Solidarity, with its grant in the period 2002-2003, contributed to the restoration of the Museum building after the 1999 earthquake.

American Friends of the Blind in Greece

The American Friends of the Blind in Greece made a catalytic contribution with their kind sponsorship to the restoration of the Museum building after the 1999 earthquake . They also contributed to the restoration of damages and the reopening of the Touch Museum in 2016-2017. Over the decades, the Organization has majorly contributed in various ways to the promotion and communication of its work.

Friends of Acropolis Society

The Friends of Acropolis Society has consistently supported over the years the operation of the Tactual Museum of the Lighthouse of the Blind in Greece with kind sponsorships, technical support, but also enriching it with specially adapted material from the sculptural decoration and architecture of the Acropolis monuments.

Hellenic Federation of Friends of Museums

The Hellenic Federation of Friends of Museums, by awarding the Τactual Museum for accessibility issues, highlighted our efforts to implement accessibility programs for people with visual and mobility problems.

General Secretariat of the Olympic Games

The General Secretariat of the Olympic Games with the General Secretary, Mr. K. Kartalis, enriched the Museum’s collection with the donation of 10 copies of the athletics thematographia. Bank of Greece

The Bank of Greece, with its kind sponsorship, secured the purchase of a stair lift for complete access of the physically challenged to the floors of the Tactual Museum.

J. F. Costopoulos Foundation

The J. F. Costopoulos Foundation, with its kind financial support, supported the Educational Programs of the Touch Museum in the year 2019.

“Alpha Bank Educational Programs” Department

In 2018-2019, exact replicas of ancient coins enriched the collection of the Tactual Museum thanks to kind donation of the Alpha Bank’s educational programs department.

Arttogether – Art of people with and without disabilities

Thanks to a significant donation from Art Together in 2019, 10 new exhibits were added to the Museum’s collections.

Hellas Lions Club of South Greek Islands

The bust of Homer, Roman copy from the Museum of Piraeus, as well as a cast of a pigeon, were kindly donated by the Lions Club HELLAS of South Greek Islands to enrich the Museum’s collections.

National Historical Museum

The National Historical Museum enriched the collection of Modern History of the Tactual Museum with the donation of the busts of the heroes of the Revolution of 1821 Theodoros Kolokotronis and Nikitaras, as well as the funeral cast of Georgios Karaiskakis, creations of the sculptor Andreas Kalakalas.

Mytilineos

The MYTILINΕOS Company kindly supports the implementation of the “New Experiential Educational Program” of the Tactual Museum for the year 2023.
